TOD’s Time

In celebration of TOD’S Diego Della Valle—the recipient of the Fashion Group International Brand Visionary Award—Mark Lee and a bevy of New York notables gathered at the men’s main floor at Barney’s for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. In a sea of driving shoes (Della Valle’s creation), truffle grilled cheeses, tuna tartar wrapped in cucumber and topped with caviar, fresh truffle and white bean spread on a crostini floated through the room and the champagne flowed like wine and the beautiful women instinctively flocked like the salmon of Capistrano…

Sequins seemed to be the look of the night—Amanda Brooks looked stunning in a gold number, but it was Mary Alice Stephenson who perfected the look with her midnight blue frock and oversized earrings. Arm in arm with Rachel Roy, those two “tall drinks of water” are really a sight to see (where do their legs stop!?). Stephanie LaCava rocked leopard heels, an emerald green dress and pink lips (does she ever get it wrong?).

Also in attendance: Cristina Greeven Cuomo, Simon Doonan, Lauren Remington Platt (with ah-dorable doggy in arms), Padma Lakshmi, Kelly Bensimmon, Jamie Johnson, Zani Gugelmann, Katie Cassidy,  Andrew Saffir, Todd Meister, Jamie Tisch, Dan Rangone, ubiquitous fashion reporter Jim Shi, Kate Schelter, Olya Thompson, Carlos Souza, Elizabeth Banks, Carlos Mota, Oluci Orlandi, Robert Burke,  Stefano Tonchi, Melissa Berkelhammer (in a drool-worthy candy apple red dress) and Elle’s Robbie Myers, who looked well-rested even after throwing a huge bash for her magazine the night before. Fashion editors, unlike fashion reporters, must get beauty sleep.
