Town Residential Sponsors Upcoming Armory Show

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

Town Residential will be an official sponsor of The Armory Show held at Pier 92 and 94 from March 5 to 8. The fair, now in its 17th year, is New York’s leading art fair for modern and contemporary art, hosting 200 of the world’s premiere galleries from 30 countries. Pier 92 will represent modern art from all major movements of the 20th century, while Pier 94 will be dedicated to leading international, contemporary galleries. Pier 94 will also host Armory Focus: Middle East, North Africa and Mediterranean (MENAM), which is curated by Whitechapel Gallery’s Omar Kholeif and presented in collaboration with Edge of Arabia and Art Jameel. The fair will also include Armory Presents, a section devoted to single and dual artist presentations by galleries less than ten years old.

The Armory Show will feature an acclaimed VIP program of events, many which will be exclusive to Town Representatives.

To start the week, Town Residential founder and CEO Andrew Heiberger will join Noah Horowitz, Executive Director of The Armory Show to co-host The Armory Show’s Centennial Collectors Dinner, an intimate event for 100 top art collectors, held at the historic Gramercy Park Hotel.

Representatives will also attend The Armory Party at The Museum of Modern Art, an annual event in support of the world-renowned exhibition programming. Attendees include a wide variety of collectors, artists, art professionals and enthusiasts. Kelela, the acclaimed singer, will perform live in MoMA’s Agnes Gund Garden Lobby. Alexis Taylor, of the band Hot Chip, will perform a two-hour-long DJ set following Kelela’s live performance; with additional performances by DJs Ezra Koenig (from the band Vampire Weekend), E*vax (from the band Ratatat), and DJ Business Class (the 2015 Armory Show Commissioned Artist, Lawrence Abu Hamdan).

In addition to general fair access, Town Residential Executives, Representatives and clients will enjoy a private tour of the Armory Show led by Noah Horowitz.

The Armory Show is the kickoff to Armory Arts Week, a city-wide program of cultural events and exhibitions throughout the five boroughs that attracts artists, galleries, collectors, critics and curators from all over the world.
