Twenty-four hour pre-shop event exclusively at J.Crew

Friday, June 13, 2014

Thursday evening at J.Crew on Prince Street, a line wrapped around the building outside to wait for their chance to shop three collections from three different designers before they debuted globally. The designers were this year’s Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)/Vogue Fashion Fund winner and runners-up.

Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, designers of Public School and this year’s Fashion Fund winners, were also named CFDA’s menswear designers of the year.

These two, along with Juan Carlos Obando and Marc Alary, who designs fine jewelry, are some of the hottest up-and-coming designers and brand names to watch out for. Their exclusive capsule collections featured 19 indigo-inspired pieces including skirts, vests, jewelry, chambray shirts, sweatpants and tees.

The event turned out an impressive crowd with eager-to-buy customers. Some of these loyal supporters included fine jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher, Athena Calderone, fashion blogger Leandra Medine, Vogue’s fashion news director Mark Holgate and Prabal Gurung.

Don’t worry AVENUE insiders, if you missed this event, these collections debut on June 16 online. Get your’s soon!

The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund is an endowment that was created to support the next generation of American fashion designers. The purpose of the funds raised from this event is to provide financial rewards and business mentoring to one or more aspiring designers.
