Verdura Toasts FIT

Monday, April 30, 2012

Ward Landriganand Nico Landrigan, Chairman and President of Verdura, hosted an intimate cocktail gathering for the FIT Couture Council.  Co-host and Couture Council Board member Eleanora Kennedy and Director of the Museum at FIT Valerie Steele welcomed guests like Maggie Norris, Geoffrey Bradfield, Roric Tobin, Melissa Morris, Kamie Lightburn, Yaz Hernandez, Liz Peek, and Liliana Cavendish.

Whilst sipping cocktails and taking in the panoramic Central Park views, the crowd perused the Spring 2012 Verdura collection and recent additions to the brand’s Museum Collection of vintage Verdura.  Mrs. Kennedy showed off one of these pieces rather well – a 1967 Lily of the Valley Brooch crafted by Baroness Liliane de Rothschild.  As did Dr. Steele, who wore the “Comedy and Tragedy Mask” designed for Claire Booth Luce after she won the Tony for “The Women” back in 1940.  The rest of us had to settle for merely admiring the beautiful, one of a kind pieces on display.  But that’s not something one gets to do every day, either.
