The Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum

The AvenueInsider feels more and more like we are living in the sci-fi movie Tron everyday – a cyber world of tweets, texts and movies that now refer to regular films as “2D” (please Hollywood – enough with the 3D!).

But we are very excited to hit up the launch of “The Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum” on December 7th. We love Valentino and the idea of a virtual museum not only intrigues us but also has us asking what exactly it all means. Those questions will be answered this Monday at a press conference with Valentino, his longtime business partner Giancarlo Giammetti, recently engaged actor Anne Hathaway and Italian Vogue Editor in Chief Franca Sozzani.

What we can tell you is that the Valentino Virtual Museum will feature a red door entrance (make that Valentino red, of course) to what would amount to 10,000 square feet of exhibitions including over 3000 dresses, sketches, rare photographs and ad campaigns. The whole futuristic experience comes neatly wrapped in “real time 3D technology.” We don’t really understand what that means, but will give you the full scoop the day after the opening.
