Waris Ahluwalia
The handsome actor/jewelry designer (he made Vanity Fair’s International Best Dressed List) pops up everywhere from A-list parties to Wes Anderson and Spike Lee films. Even though he’s not a full time actor, Ahluwalia has made appearances in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and Inside Man through his social connections (he’s BFF with a number of celebs). He is often seen wearing tailored suits but is also one of the few people unafraid to take fashion risks. His House of Waris jewelry line, inspired by India, is front and center at Barneys and adorning the bodies of the city’s PYTs. In addition, he also opened a temporary pop-up space under the New York City High Line and created the House of Waris Tea. Ahluwalia came to the United States at age five and grew up in Brooklyn. He’s based in New York City but has lived in Los Angeles and travels frequently to Rome, Italy, Japan and Rajasthan, India (where most of his jewelry is made).
