Watches on watches: tell time Hublot style

Thursday, July 17, 2014

Here at AVENUE, we’re all about getting the inside scoop, the exclusive offers and the limited editions. So we were super excited when insider got an invite to the Hublot Boutique for an NYC-exclusive launch party.

Wednesday evening the luxury Swiss watch brand launched its limited edition King Power 692 Bang. As aforementioned, the piece is exclusive to the brand’s 692 Madison Avenue flagship store and is available in black ceramic and includes interchangeable yellow and black straps inspired by the iconic NYC Taxi Cab.

The counters, hands and minute track are in the same yellow as the stitching on the black rubber and hornback crocodile strap and the face has a diameter of 48mm. The entire design beautifully mixes sophistication and sporty; this, in combination with the black and yellow colors, underscore the unique character of the King Power 692 Bang.

A sketch of the Madison Ave. boutique was designed by architect Peter Marino and was inspired by the grand luxury townhouses of NY’s historic Upper East Side neighborhood. The boutique’s facade adorns the case-back of the 692 Bang.

This exclusive launch was celebrated cocktail style by invitation only. AVENUE insider along with other guests perused the spectacular designs of the 26-piece collection. All the while sipping on delicious Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label champagne, munching on seasonal hors d’oeuvres and enjoying music from local NY DJs Sabrina Burda and Natalie Doge.
