We Are Family HONORS compassionate couple Sting and Trudie Styler with their Humanitarian Award next Thursday April 12. The couple joins the ranks of former honorees Sir Elton John, Larry King, Dionee Warwick, Peter Gabriel, Patti LaBelle, Jackson Browne.

And they’re celebrating the rock couple in a smashing way. Following the awards attendees get loose with special performances featuring none other than the legend and honoree himself, as well as previous honoree Nile Rodgers who wrote the hit Sister Sledge song and CHIC … plus mystery special guests. Prior to the evening, guests who purchase a VIP ticket get access not only to top seating but also an exclusive cocktail and hors d’oeuvres hour kicking off the night.

Sting and Trudie Styler are committed to supporting a healthy, happy and sustainable world. Together they founded the Rainforest Fund in the late 80s. They have raised over 30 million dollars so far while protecting indigenous people who call natural bounties like the Amazon home. The couple is an avid investor in both time and donations for multiple charities, including UNICEF. In fact this is not the first philanthropic award for Sting and Trudie who received the 2011 UNICEF Children’s Champion Award, and Trudie has worked as an ambassador for UNICEF since 2004.

Just like the song, the not-for-profit brings people of various diversities together in hopes of fostering a “global family.” All ticket funds from the HONORS ceremony go directly to We Are Family’s existing programs: Three Dot Dash and TEDxTeen, which both support and mentor outstanding teenagers with a fervor for promoting basic human needs and a more peaceful world.

Tickets to the event are tax-deductible, with VIP tickets each costing $215 and concert tickets costing $125. The VIP reception runs an hour before the concert at 7 P.M. and the ceremony and concert begin at 8:15 P.M. The awards event will take place in midtown-mecca Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom, located 311 West 34th Street.
