Whiskey, Shopping and Other Weekend Ideas

Friday, November 30, 2018

Sometimes it can be hard to figure out what to do over the weekend. In New York and the Hamptons, there are just too many options. Fortunately, AVENUE’s editors have put their collective heads together and come up with a few suggestions, ranging from a Whiskey Fest to a shopping event. What unites them all is that they’re worth your time.

Whiskey Fest

Mmmm! It’s Brooklyn Whiskey Fest, which means it’s time to bring the whole family down to the second borough for a tasty treat. (Okay, maybe not the whole family!)

Brooklyn Expo Center, 72 Noble Street, Brooklyn

Saturday, December 1st at 2 p.m.

Miracle on Madison

The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is the recipient of the 32nd Annual Miracle on Madison Avenue, New York City’s most beloved philanthropic holiday shopping tradition. Head on down to Madison on Saturday for exciting shopping and more!

Madison Avenue, between 57th and 86th Streets, New York

Saturday, December 1st at 10 a.m.

Nostalgia Ride

Trains away! The NY Transit Museum’s annual Holiday Nostalgia Rides are back, which means you can take a subway train from the thirties on the regular tracks!

The 2 and A/C/D Lines

Sunday, December 2nd

Hanukkah!

Hanukkah, oh Hanukkah! Enjoy a tasty latke and a glass of Manischewitz—it’s the first night of the festival of lights!

Any Jewish Household

Sunday, December 2nd

Metropolitan

Ahoy! Metropolitan, Whit Stillman’s Upper East Side Prep classic, will be screening at the Metrograph this Sunday with a Q&A with the director himself. Check it out!

Metrograph, 7 Ludlow Street, New York

Sunday, December 2nd at 9:45 p.m.
