What’s in Dasha Zhukova’s Garage?

Thursday, August 25, 2011

Former POP editor and art aficionado Dasha Zhukova announced a while back that she would be starting her own magazine that would merge the world’s of art and fashion into one cohesive feast for the eyes and mind. Entitled Garage, after the contemporary art center Zhukova started up in Moscow, the first issue is set to be released during next month’s NYFW. A sneak preview of the three covers chosen for this issue were released today and the verdict is in-we love it! One particularly tantalizing cover option features a peel-away butterfly sticker strategically placed over a model’s…ahem…nether regions, and when peeled off reveals a Damien Hirst designed PERMANENT butterfly tattoo. Gaga video visionary Nick Knight shot the second option and features a doll-version of model Lily Donaldson wearing miniature designer duds while the third cover is emblazoned with a Richard Prince designed smiley face.

Needless to say, in a world where the printing press ceases to overpower the strength of the internet, this independent and scintillating glossy is sure to be added to this Insider’s monthly pile.
