After the record-breaking and staggeringly beautiful Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute closed at the beginning of the month, it’s hard to imagine what directors Harold Koda and Andrew Bolton could possibly come up with next. The timing of the McQueen exhibit (so close to his tragic suicide) gave the presentation an eery, memorial-like atmosphere.

What could be so relevant as to compare? Well, WWD reported that the next design pioneers to be featured will be none other than Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli. It will certainly be interesting to find out what connects these two visionaries, but one things for sure-I won’t be missing out on this one.

The next exhibit will open in the Spring of 2012.
