This weekend, the “wild things” were at David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the New York City Opera’s 2011 Family Benefit.

This year’s event was based around Maurice Sendak’s beloved book-Where the Wild Things Are. The concert performance was composed by Oliver Knussen to Sendak‚Äôs wording–telling a tale of a wildly imaginative little boy. Afterwards, guests such as Kelly Rutherford, Andrea Hagan, Alex McCord, Deborah Roberts, HRH Princess Alexandra of Greece and Phoebe Cohen enjoyed a buffet lunch, while the little ones (and even some adults!) got their face painted, danced and were treated to a make-your-own sundae bar. Adorable!

This brings new meaning to “a wild weekend”.
