One wouldn’t believe that looking to the past would be at the forefront of Zac Posen’s mind this fashion week. With the debut of his line with Brooks Brothers and celebrating four years of his sister label ZAC Zac Posen, it would seem that the brand is fully looking towards the future.

However, the Spring 2016 Collection for his eponymous brand, which walked the runway at Vanderbilt Hall on September 14, has more than an air of nostalgia around it.

Inspired by the 1950s, the designer presented a collection full of A-line skirts, cutouts and dresses with panniers in navy, black and white. With the occasional sharp, modern tuxedo jacket the collection has the classic Posen flair and elegance and will be perfect for all those NYC benefits and galas.

Models Anna Cleveland, Kate Grigorieva and Cindy Bruna walked the runway, while guests, which included Christina Hendricks, Jennifer Hudson and Amy Schumer, packed the room, anxious to see their favorite designer’s creations.
